You don't need to be an expert in computer coding to post accessible, easy to read diaries and comments.

Use the following shortcuts to enhance your MyDedham Blog experience.  Use the code below and simply remove the spaces between the [ ] or < > and the first and last letter of text.

  • Links: Open square-bracket [ followed by the text to be linked, followed by the URL, followed by close square bracket ]. Thus, [ MyDedham http:// www.MyDedham.org ] comes out as MyDedham.

  • Bullets (like this one): < li >

  • Bold: Open tag is < b > and the close tag is < /b >. Put the open and close tags around the text you want to bold.

  • Italics. < i > < /i > Put the tags around the text you want to italicize.

  • Strikethrough. < del > < /del > Put the tags around the text you want to strikethrough.

  • Quotation. When quoting larger sections of text you may want to use these tags < blockquote > < /blockquote > so

    The text looks like this.

    Rustcraft Road (0.00 / 0)
Does anyone know if sidewalks are going to be put in near the train station? I almost ran over two girls (at 11pm) last night. They were walking on the curve near Elm St after getting off the train and they had to jump into the bushes to avoid getting hit. I never expected to see walkers on that curve. You would think the town would install sidewalks in that location since there are 400 or so apartments across the street! This is a very dangerous problem that needs to be addressed. Rustcraft Rd and Elm street have never had so many pedestrians before. Please insist the town do something before someone gets killed.

    posting a photo (0.00 / 0)
    per Brian:

There's no easy way to insert a photo here, but it is a feature that's been requested.  To do so, you need to use a little HTML coding:
    < img src="http://www.LocationOfThePhoto.com/photo.jpg" >

The only changes you need to make are 1) change the web address so that it reflects where the photo is, and 2) remove the spaces by the < and >.

If the photo is already online, using a service like Flickr or Webshots, chances are it will have the code already for you to copy and paste.  Hope this helps.
