One of the great things about living in this town is all the amazing people who give their time and talent to make our community a better place, often never expecting anything in return for themselves. We now have a way to reward these indaviduals for all their efforts.
This spring, at the Annual Town Meeting, we will be awarding the first Town of Dedham Public Service Recognition Awards (Very catchy name, I know. Feel free to make suggestions in the comments). The Committee hopes to give one to an adult and one to a child, and a plaque generously donated by Cherokee Trophy with the winners' names will hang in Town Hall. Nomination forms will appear in the Dedham Times in the next week or two, but you can also nominate someone online.
It only takes a minute, so please think of which kids in your neighborhood shoveled out the little old lady down the street during the snowstorm, or tutors their classmates, or volunteers at the Food Pantry, and nominate them (or their adult equivilant) for this award. |
