Why are the Dedham road conditions so bad and all the surrounding towns / city down to bare pavement?

    Not sure (0.00 / 1)
Many communities are sighting the same poor road conditions. Why? Since the Gov. decreed that all cars be off the roads fri, by 4pm...I would have thought the roads would be in great condition, however, that is not the case .

Many reports from Boston - and photos - complaining of no plowing at all as of this afternoon on some streets.

You would expect ,since we had ample notice, about this storm that all equipment would be out doing a great job clearing this snow from the side streets.
How come this hasn't happened? Very dissappointed with the condition of the roadways in this town for this particular storm.
Usually they do a great job.
    So what is the problem?

    We had a BLIZZARD !!!

I was out all day on Saturday plowing, and the best roads I saw were in Norwood.  I didn't really get too deep off any main roads, but every one I traveled was great.  On the other hand, even Washington Street in Westwood was terrible.  The shocks on the truck got a workout.  The side streets were even worse, with perhaps one truck visiting them each by Saturday afternoon.  Dedham was somewhere in the middle - some where OK, and others were in tough shape.  Given the amount of snow we received, I think we did an OK job.

    Unacceptable (0.00 / 0)
On my Monday morning commute to Needham the streets in the Manor were deplorable. There were at least 4 inches of snow on the roads and at least 3-4 feet unplowed on either side to make a one-car wide path down the middle. By my Monday evening return home the streets of the Manor were full of mucky slush that was so high in spots it scraped the bottom of my car. The main roads had been cleared by the rain but the secondary roads were dangerous. I had not seen a plow on my street since Saturday early morning and never a salter or sander.

I really expected better road conditions by Monday morning/evening. Needham side streets were clear Monday morning.

I'm not looking forward to a frozen ice mound drive through the Manor this morning and I don't know how the buses will fare.
