    East Dedham 1911?

    by: manorman

Sun Jan 20, 2013 at 22:18:01 PM EST

This postcard was uploaded to Facebook with an East Dedham location. Does anyone recognize the scene? I found a map that seems to show a streetcar line running from Hyde park down to East Dedham square and turning left up High st. This seems to show tracks going across the square towards Bussey st.

    Wondering . . . (0.00 / 0)
Did they have EBT cards back in 1911?

    Stuck up? (0.00 / 0)
Let me guess Lee you must have been born with a silver spoon in your mouth or some where else. There is a lot of hard working people that live in East Dedham. It sounds like you think your better than people that have EBT cards.I don't have one, I live in East Dedham. You don't know if they lost their jobs because of this lousy economy,or some other tragic thing that happen to them.

    Don't bother. (0.00 / 0)
I suspect bad parenting. A person who had parents who knew how to properly raise children would never say that kind of thing here. Personally, I feel sorry for people who grow up without being taught right from wrong and manners.

    Not welcome (0.00 / 0)
This type of comment is not welcome here.  I live in East Dedham, and I take offense at your insinuation that 1) we are all on the dole, and, more importantly, 2) that there is something wrong with people who use EBT cards.

Since this is your first comment and your account was only registered yesterday, I'm going to assume that you have not yet read the policies we all abide by here.  I'd like to point out two in particular:

    Civility
Everyone is welcome at myDedham.  Spirited discussion and debate is encouraged, but civility and community are paramount.  At the end of the day we are all Dedhamites and we must all live together in one town.  As insults, personal attacks, and rudeness in general lower the level of discussion, and interfere with the goal of greater community, they will not be tolerated.  You can disagree on an issue without attacking another person. In general, you should never say something about someone that you wouldn't say to their face.

    Moving the Ball Forward
Before any post or comment is submitted, the writer should ask him or herself if the comment is designed to advance the conversation in some meaningful way, or is good natured fun.  If it is, it should be posted.  If it is not, the blogger should instead consider leaving a more productive comment.

Your comment was both uncivil and unproductive.  Please don't do it again.
