(They are always looking for new show ideas, and hosts for the show ideas they already have.  If this is something that interests you, I'm sure the fine folks Dedham TV would love to have you. - promoted by Brian)

Occasionally, I check the Comcast "Educational Programming" channel for local information.  The content seems thin.  The Dedham Hall of Fame video seems to be the only available program - it has been shown and reshown -- sort of an endless loop.

I wonder if the the local programming channel is underutilized.  How about adding myDEDHAM conversations to the lineup???  Are there local organizations that need publicity?

How many years has this been available - a generation? I think if anyone cared, it would be utilized more by now.

Just noticed Dedham TV is now located at the old Videocom  building.
Now just what is Dedham TV, what programming do they produce etc. and are they leasing or did  they buy the building?

    Responding to your questions (3.00 / 1)
Jim Dellot out of Dedham High School runs the Educational Channel. He works with the students in the AV Classes at the High School to produce programming. While the students mostly learn the operation of equipment, they have limited time to produce programming for the station. Content is often limited, but will be more robust in the future when the students present their final projects towards the end of the school year.

A wide array of original programming can be seen on our "Public" Channel (RCN 13, Comcast 8, and Verizon 40). As we have been told by representatives of our Cable Providers: we have the fourth most original programming in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (for Local Stations), and provide access to any Dedham-Based Organization to film, produce, or suggest ideas for their own show. In addition, the Government Channel (RCN 3, Comcast 98, and Verizon 39) is the home of all School Committee and Board of Selectmen Meetings, as well as Annual Town Meeting and other highly publicized Board or Committee Hearings. Over the past two years, Dedham TV has increased heavily increased the amount of programming.

Dedham Residents and Owners of Dedham-Based Organizations and Businesses, as well as private individuals, who use our space for photography, film production, etc., utilize Dedham TV. Dedham TV recently moved to the old Videocom building at 502 Sprague Street, one of the largest studios in the New England Area. The space is rented, not owned. We are owned and operated by Dedham Visionary Access Corporation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, and are not affiliated with the Town of Dedham. DVAC d/b/a Dedham Television is a fully functional television and film studio equipped with sophisticated Audio and Video equipment.

On April 25, 2013, Dedham TV will hold a public open house to view our new facilities, meet the stars of Dedham TV, and encourage new businesses and residents to utilize our resources.

We encourage all individuals to email us any questions related to our station, or to visit our website: dedhamtv.org for more information, including: upcoming programming schedules, videos of things you might have missed, and more!

    Best Wishes,

    The Dedham Television Staff

    Taping Questions? (0.00 / 0)
Now that DTV has moved and has upgraded their equipment, when will they be able to video Finance Comm, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals meetings?

Also, I was told a while ago that "all" taped meetings would be able to go in the DTV archive, I recently looked, most are Pubic or School events, with almost no past Municipal meeting video's.

A fare amount of BOS re-runs, and some other meetings are cut off some portion of the way through the meeting, I realize DTV has time constraints but, if multiple meetings are getting cut off it might be better to show a few less each day to be able to show full length re-runs, just a suggestion.

The Municipal video's answer a lot of questions without having to do research or call Town Hall, when do you think this will happen?

    thanks!
