HALLOWEEN PARTY IN THE MANOR
When DJ Fanci Nancy blasts the tunes, McDonald Sq. quickly fills up with children in ghoulish attire. We had beautiful fall weather and it was nice to see so many familiar faces and all the new and growing families in the neighborhood.
Our Halloween Block Party is a great social event that Manor parents and children look forward to yearly and a number of former Dedham residents always come back to visit with their families and friends. The Halloween Block Party had a number of activities for children of all ages to participate in. DJ- Fancy Nancy had them hula hooping and dancing in the streets, the moonwalk kept the kids hopping all afternoon, Popcorn, Cotton Candy and plenty of hotdogs & pork sandwiches kept everyone happy and a very scary Halloween costume contest had a bunch of winners this year. The King's Bowling Pin visited too and handed out bowling passes. The DPW provided a couple of vehicles for the kids to explore. As an added bonus, Chief Michael D'Entremont and the Dedham Police were on hand doing fast pitch and lead the Flashlight Zombie parade around the neighborhood. |
| The Manor Halloween Block Party was a huge success due to the hard work of a core group of volunteers who helped set up, work tables and clean up at the end of the night. I would like to thank our many volunteers, Manor Neighborhood Assn, Dotty Victoria, Chuck DelloIacono, Jamie Maloney, Erin & PJ McGowan, Mike Leahy, Kathy Maher, Jamie Jendrzian, Kenny Levin, Joe & Mary Green, Sheila & Tom Falconer and John Rice.
I would like to thank the following Individuals & Manor Business's for their generous donations or helping to making the Manor Block Party a huge success this year: Senator Mike Rush, Rep. Paul McMurtry, Selectmen Mike Butler, Royer Tree Service, Tex's BBQ for pulled pork sandwiches, Chuck Wagon Catering and Chuck DelloIacono for donating hotdogs and rolls, Skyzone & Rock Spot Climbing for gift certificates, Mechanical Engineering Automotive Inc for providing power, Joe Flanagan & Dedham Department of Public Works and Terri's Market & Steve Adams for all their support.
Thank You,
Jim Maher
