    Manor Neighborhood Assn

(Between the details here and in the comments, it appears the Association is doing some really great work.  Congratulations to all those invovled. - promoted by Brian)

The Manor Neighborhood Assn. has asked Selectman-Jim McDonald to file an article for Town Meeting to approve a bylaw limiting the use of Jersey Barriers in the Town of Dedham. Nothing welcomes you to the Manor like the sight of the wall of "Beirut" Jersey Barriers in McDonald Square. Currently, there are no guidelines on Jersey Barriers and anyone can put them up on their Commercial or residential properties without any consequences. Our hope is with this new Bylaw, no other Neighborhood in Dedham will be held captive to an individual or business with an axe to grind.
Jim McDonald has filed an article for the fall Special TM to put together a committee to research & recommend to TM a Jersey Barrier Bylaw. Please reach out to Jim if you would like to get involved

    Also, (3.00 / 1)
The Manor Neighborhood Assn has asked Rep. McMurtry & Senator Rush to file legislation that requires all banks & mortgage companies that have foreclosed homes in Mass to have them back on the market within one calendar year. This will help stimulate the economy with house sales, renovation work and improve the overall quality of life in neighborhoods where too many foreclosed house sit in disrepair. Rep. McMurtry & Senator Rush are up for the task and MNA member-Michele Brock has volunteered to work with them and reach out to other Dedham Community groups.

    Regarding the Same Business... (3.00 / 1)
Perhaps someday this wonderful business owner who cares about our community can also be persuaded to somehow find a remedy for the swastika that was carved into a concrete post on his property several years ago. Such a treat as I walk by it on the way to the train every morning.  I've often thought about submitting it to the Transcript for their "Where In Dedham Is This?" photo feature. What a disgrace.

    I've never noticed it.

But once you notice it, you can never un-notice it.
